Don Mong to Attend Darke County Fair

Artist Don Mong will be greeting people and promoting the sale of his images of Greenville and Darke County at the Great Darke County Fair. Don previously received a tremendous response to his work at the Gathering at Garst Museum last month. He enjoys interacting with people and would like to see you in the Coliseum. He will be there on Saturday and Sunday, August 21 and 22, from 1:00 - 6:00 pm.

Don is a Greenville High School alumnus who currently lives in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. His images of local buildings and landscapes have resonated with people and have prompted them to recall memories of special moments in their lives. Don has generously donated his entire Greenville My Hometown portfolio of images to the Garst Museum to be used in fundraising efforts for the museum. These images now appear on prints, notecards, postcards, memory boxes, and a poster containing a collage of his work. All of these items are available at The Museum Store at Garst and can be purchased during the business hours of 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday. These items will not be on sale at the Fair however, Don would be happy to sign your purchase if you bring it to the fairgrounds Coliseum during the scheduled time he will be there.

In addition, efforts are underway to publish a “coffee table” book of his images that will include historical captions and a section to write down your memories of the images. Hopefully, this project can be completed and ready for sale by late November 2021.
